@oliphant Since human attention is limited, I think there is a space for providing solutions to the problem of "I follow too many people to keep up with."

But rather than monetizing that service, a platform could (if it wanted to) provide users the tools to build their own idiosyncratic algorithms that surface posts based on their interests. There would be no way to game that system for virality.

Following hashtags is a small step in that direction.
