Rizo acquires a companion ...

Rizo caught a hint of movement to his left. Instantly he was up, dagger drawn, to confront the unexpected visitor. In the gloaming, Rizo saw a small black creature sitting on its haunches.

"Meow," it said.

"It's a cat," Rizo observed.

"Isn't he the Familiar you summoned?"

"Maybe." Rizo sheathed his dagger and addressed the cat. "If you are my familiar, how would I know?"
