11. Are some genres taken more seriously than others? How does this make you feel?

Without a doubt some genres are taken more seriously. But what really steams my asparagus is that some works aren't considered to be "genre" at all, just because they are set in the "real world" and a "contemporary" time period with "real people" as characters.
